Ryan "Bernie" Bernickus Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student in the radiography, PTA, or nursing program at HCC, this $531 scholarship was created in memory of Ryan “Bernie” Bernickus. While attending the University of Iowa and majoring in pharmacology, he was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma. He was determined to beat his illness and fulfill his dream of becoming a pharmacist. Sadly, he passed away in April 2016. Ryan’s generosity and selflessness will continue to live on in those who choose to pursue a path within the healthcare field, humbly serving their patients daily with compassion and kindness.
