AMVets Post 270 Vivian O. Stockdale Nursing Scholarship

The AMVETS Post 270 Vivian O. Stockdale Nursing Scholarship is in honor of the past AMVETS Post 270 Commander Vivian Stockdale. She was a life member of the post and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy. She was part of the WAVES program and served at a U.S. naval hospital in Oakland. At discharge she was a hospital corpsman, petty office second class. She was also a life member of American Legion post 56 and volunteer for American Red Cross Blood drives. She was a strong supporter of reducing nursing shortages.
